15. Go frisbee golfing with friends at different courses

Courses so far...

David A. Lorenz Disk Golf Course (18 holes)

Red Rocks Community College Disk Golf Course (9 holes)

Ken Caryl Disk Golf Course (9 holes)

Bird's Nest Disk Park (24 holes- we did 19)

Crystal finesses her way through the course.
Lars showing off his masterful putting skills
This our friend, Richard, doin his thing.
Lars delivers a might toss. Just look at the fury on his face.
Richard again... concentrating really hard on throwing this disc.

17. Attend new classes at 24 Hour... become a regular

Our second class... 24 Cycle.... with Bill

Today we completed our first spinning class. We really enjoy biking, especially Lars. The wind in your hair... oh wait that's air conditioning. The beautiful scenery ... never mind that's just our sweaty instructor yelling instructions. But you look at the work-out you get. An hour of this would make anyone pour sweat like a waterfall. Seriously, there were puddles left behind after today's class. The janitors are going to hate us.

17. Attend new classes at 24 Hour... become a regular

Our first class... Boot Camp... with Teresa

Have you ever seen someone get their butt kicked? Have you ever seen someone nearly pass out from pain? If the answer is no, then you should sit in on this class. You'll see grown men cry, women pass out like those old movies in the 40's, and an instructor laughing as it happens. But seriously, we now know what the phrase "feel the burn," means. We're still feeling the burn two days later. If the burn subsides by next Saturday we may go again. Why, you ask? Because we're masochists; that's why.

3. Get horseshoes to play at home (minus pits)

Horseshoes

Some call it the sport of Kings and others .........don't. The old west meets the new suburbs. We have turned our backyard into a history lesson in leisure sports and couldn't be happier with the result. Anyone can play; what could be easier than throwing a U-shaped object at a 12 inch pole? Well, I guess it could be easier if we actually dug sand pits instead of throwing in the grass. Either way, we have enjoyed this addition more than we expected and so have our guests.

2. Buy a New Grill (a BIG Grill!)

This is our New Grill. It's a BIG Grill. Crystal claims that it is Lars' grill, but it cooks food for both of us. Lars would be happy to cook only for himself on it, but strangely enough, Crystal complains when this is suggested. Lars quietly files these complaints in a complaint box and goes about his business.

1. Grow a Garden

Our Garden

This year we have planted a fantastic garden.
Featuring vegetables from many exotic locations.
In the pepper planters we have jalapenos from south of the border, bell peppers of orange and green varieties, thai peppers from Thailand, and the extremely hot habanero known to reduce many men to tears.

Opposite the peppers are two cucumber varieties: the pickling cucumber and the burpless cucumber (AKA Italian cucumber)
Our tomatoes sit right next to the cucumbers and we have planted celebrity tomatoes, which have been used by celebrities such as Steve Buscemi and John Turturro. And roma tomatoes, which have been featured on shows such Rachel Ray and Emeril LiveNow a blast from the south...green beans and okra can be used in many of your favorite cajun dishes as well as can be fried for a delectable, but not so healthy snack. Actually frying them probably removes all nutritional value... just a thought. Further down the line their is some romaine lettuce, red leaf lettuce, and broccoli. Once everything has grown we can make the ultimate salad!

This is cilantro. It's an herb.

Our First Post - Summer Goals

Welcome to our blog!

Every summer we, meaning Crystal and Lars, set goals that we would like to achieve. With Crystal having an extended vacation over the summer (she's a teacher) and Lars finally having all weekends and holidays off (YAY!) it seems to be the perfect time to set lofty goals that we could otherwise not achieve. Last summer we set A LOT of goals and not all of them were met, there seems to be this issue with not having enough time that we can't quite wrap our heads around. So, this year we have made a long, but very achievable list. For most of these goals we will be posting pictures periodically, so check back early and often. So... without further adieu:
