Dancing in the Mindfields.... by Andrew Peterson
We both love this song and it really reminds you as you listen to it what marriage is about and what promises you make to each other and how important they are. This song crossed our path at the perfect time as we are going through some pretty tough times. I hope it touches others as it did us.

Giving it all to him....
Sometimes life just seems extremely overwhelming. We try our best to handle what ever is thrown our way, but sometimes it just does not work out. I love the quote "If God brings you to it, he will bring you through it." As of right now I feel as if parts of our life are crumbling right before our eyes. But I just have to pray that through prayer and trust in God that everything will work out.
On Thursday of last week, Lars was in a car accident and totaled the Toyota Tundra that he had had since college. It was a great truck and took many journeys with us. I just kept thinking that I don't care what happened to the truck, at least I could replace it, but if anything would have happened to Lars, I can't replace him. This was a very trying time for both of us. Lars and the other family were taken to the ER to get checked out and what a blessing to know that everyone is just fine. A few scrapes and bruises, but good overall. It was truly amazing that in such a terrible circumstance God could make sure that everyone was protected and safe.
In addition to the accident, Rusty, our dog that we have had since college, is facing his most challenging point in his life. Through a lot of research we have discovered that he most likely had a disease called Degenerative Myelopathy.... kind of like MS. He has been going down hill over the past several months and has gradually lost a lot of movement and sensation in his rear legs. He has good days and bad days and unfortunately there are more bad days than good here lately. It is one of the hardest things to do in life to see your "kid" go through such pain. In addition, it is hard to know that there is really nothing you can do to help when all you really want to do is take the pain away so there is no suffering anymore. As of today, Rusty has taken a pretty bad turn for the worst--he is lacking most stability on his rear legs and partial front leg as well. He also has lost partial control of his bodily functions. It just breaks my heart knowing that our baby is going through this. Some days he is so incoherent he does not even realize where he is or who we are. He begins to growl at us and then stops when he regains his bearings on where he is. All we can do is make sure he eats good and gets some exercise. I just pray that he is not in too much pain and that when it is his time God will take him so he does not have to suffer.
There are always times in our lives that we just can't carry the burdens that are laid upon us and we must give it all to God. We must trust that he knows what is best and that he can handle every situation. This is exactly what I feel we must do with life right now. God is always there for us no matter the situation or how difficult we think the situation might be. Just give it all to him!!!

To do.... To do....
It's hard to believe that it is already 2011. It seemed that 2010 went by like a blurry roller coaster. We accomplished so much this past year with both of us receiving very good jobs and buying our first home. God has truly blessed both of us with such great families and friends that have stood by us.
2. Remodel Master Bath... over the next few months we are going to remodel the only room in the house that did not get a complete overhaul before we bought it. We were very blessed that when we bought the house it came with the new vanity, toilet and marble flooring and Crystal's mom and dad gave them a beautiful new corner shower to use.We are very anxious to get this project going!
3. Complete Man Cave and New Office Downstairs... the biggest project we have before us is remodeling the basement into Lars' "Man Cave". Lucky us we already have the pool table, which came with the house, but we have to level the floors, redo walls, take down popcorn ceilings, new lighting and switches, carpeting, a bar area..... the list goes on and on and on. Thank goodness we have lots of friends and family who have already offered their assistance for this enormous project!
The list will probably keep growing, but this is a start.
Bring it on 2011!!! We are ready!!!
Our to do list so far for 2011....
1. Buy a new vacuum.... So we needed to buy a new vacuum because when we were cleaning our old place Crystal forgot to put the cyclones back in the old vacuum, so to say the least it did not work well after that. We decided to buy the Dyson DC25 Ball. We just got it this week and it works great.... good investment for our wonderful new house!!
